According to Variety, Megan Fox is signed to star as Aspen Mathews in the film adaptation of Michael Turner's comic, Fathom. Fathom started in 1998 and is the story of Aspen Mathews, an amnesiac girl rescued by sailors. When she grows up she finds out that she is actually a member of an aquatic humanoid race called the Blue.

Megan Fox will be familiar, to most, from her role in Transformers and the upcoming Transformers 2. Michael Turner died, of cancer, last year, at the age of 37. I was fortunate enough to meet him at Wizard World Texas. Every year he came to the show, and even in pain, and on crutches, he would sign books for hours.

Megan Fox was 12 when the first issue of Fathom was published, so Michael Turner obviously did not base the art on her, but she certainly has a strong resemblance to the character. Not long before Michael died, Megan toured Aspen Comics and Michael was apparently enthusiastic about her being rumored for the part.
