The amazingly lovely Nigella Lawson came to Houston on Wednesday to do a book signing at the Williams-Sonoma at Town & Country Village and I played hooky from work to meet her.

Nigella first came to my attention with her television show Nigella Bites. The best description for that show is "food erotica". Artfully shot, hosted by the sensual Nigella and featuring food that hits every pleasure center, it is a joy to watch. That show was followed by other shows including Nigella, Nigella Feasts and Nigella Express.

She also has several cookbooks. For the holiday season she has a new book called Nigella Christmas: Food Family Friends Festivities

The book signing was well run and organized. Nigella was there for less than two hours and the store ran out of her books (they said they had 250 copies of her new book and backstock of her older books). Unbelievably she is even more gorgeous in person than on TV. She is tall, with an hourglass figure and tiny waist and her skin looks a decade younger than her age. Every time a fan handed her a book to sign she gave a radiant smile and was friendly. Definitely better than a day at work.
